Total Price Gouge but ...

... if you need it, you need it ... my install was 1/4" too deep so I needed the extension kit ... better too deep than too shallow I guess.

Extension kit

The description says 1 box and 1 of each part. There is a total of 4 screws, and 8 plastic parts. Overall ok. Seriously over priced. Would be a great item to be included in the over priced valve kit. Or at least updated instructions advising if you go past a certain point on the valve rough in you need this kit.

Extra parts needed

As a contractor installing the grohe smartbox for the first time had plenty of room in my wall to install the smartbox at any depth since normally i just look at parts for trim kit just to make sure they are all there i recommend with this company you actually check all the depth since they only support part for the minimum depth installation. And no were in there manual stated that extra parts would be needed for maximum depth installation. So beware because for plastic parts very pricey. Kinda fell like we were tricked

Genuine OEM part but way overpriced

This is a genuine OEM part and it worked fine so I have to rate it well. The one star off is a reflection on Grohe charging an exorbitant amount for a few pieces of plastic. Absolutely ridiculous.

Works great but a little tricky

Helps to have 2 people, and good light to install as the blue guides wobble as you are trying to lower the toilet over them. Otherwise, they seem like nice units, and it is nice to be able to align the toilet in situ without disturbing the wax ring section.

Great kit BUT at an extortion cost!!

So, I spent +-$1000 on the state of the art Grohe shower system and despite my plumber and tiler doing good work, we just ended up short of space and needed this kit. You'd think Grohe would offer this kit at a reasonable price to support their valuable clients, but I feel like they knew we were screwed and took advantage of us by charging $110 for 4 screws and a couple of plastic extenders. Really??? $110??? That's the thanks we get?

Way Overpriced

The item worked as it was supposed to do. But for a couple of screws and a few pieces of plastic it is WAY overpriced. But when the valve box is installed to deep inside the wall, what can you do?! Grohe knows this and they are taking advantage of their customers, big time.

Too expensive

Because of the hieroglyphic installation manual, many first timers make control box depth errors causing you to by these ridiculous over priced pieces of plastic. It's sickening!

Moderner Diebstahl

Das ist moderner Diebstahl. Wer dieses Produkt kauft tut es nur, weil er keine andere Wahl hat. Die 4 Schrauben und Plastikteile hätten sonst einen Verkehrswert von 8€. Hier wird man einfach beraubt - weil man Grohe ausgeliefert ist.

Shocking price tag for something which should have been included with the Smartcontrol

After depleting your bank account for the gorgeous Grohe Smartcontrol, you can rest assured that the installation kit includes almost everything you need for its installation into the Rapido Smartbox. Unless that is, your Smartbox had to be mounted a few millimetres further back in the wall. This is when you discover the Grohe sucker punch. You'll need to shell out another 100 Euros for longer versions of the 4 metal bolts and 5 small plastic parts included in the box. Those bits of plastic will actually cost you twice as much as the impressively engineered Rapido Smartbox, and one third that of the very expensive Smartcontrol to which it fits. I know that it was my own decision to buy in to the Grohe ecosystem and I certainly expected to pay more for their products, but there is a difference between honest profit and greedy exploitation. Grohe doesn't miss a trick - not happy with the premium price tag, they want their customers to shell out an extra 100 Euros for parts that should have been included with the Smartcontrol. In retrospect, I'm mostly impressed by the quality of my new bathroom fittings. There are some disappointments such as the plasticky Rainshower wall connection joint, but the Smartcontrol and Smartactive Rainshower 310 look beautiful.

Funktional, wenn nötig alternativlos und überteuert

Das Verlängerungsset erfüllt seinen Zweck. Die Installation geht relativ gut, wenn man die Informationen dazu gefunden hat. Die Bilderanleitung von Grohe ist doch sehr verbesserungsfähig. Was für Dieb steile eine bodenlose Frechheit ist, ist der Preis. 115,92€ für 4 Messingschrauben und die paar Plastikteile geht eigentlich garnicht und dann nicht mal eine vernünftige Anleitung oder QR-Code zu selbiger dabei. Leider muss man dieses Set verwenden, wenn die Gewerke zu großzügig um die Smartbox gebaut haben. Das nutzt der Hersteller intensiv aus.

Absoluter Wucherpreis für Kunden in Notlage

Unser Sanitärfritze hat leider die Smart box zu tief gesetzt, so dass wir auf die Verlängerungen angewiesen waren. Materialwert 1,5 Euro und VK 110 Euro.... das geht überhaupt nicht. Die normalen könnten einfach 2 cm länger sein, muss man ja eh absägen.... sowas von einer FA wie Grohe. Einmal und nie wieder, andere Frauen haben auch schöne Töchter....
